Here is a quick demo to show how to create a timed event that triggers to fire after 30 seconds on any page on your website.

(You can have more than one event fire, and they could be at different times, like 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 3 minutes etc).

The objective is to be quickly and easily create Facebook Retargeting Audiences using time on page without needing to write any code.

Notice, in the Page Path we just put a * symbol (this means "fire the event on all pages").

HOW TO USE TIME-ON-PAGE EVENTS IN FACEBOOK ADS:

You can use Time on Page in two ways:

1. EXCLUDE PEOPLE: By creating Retargeting Audiences using people who fired an ACTIVE 10 SECONDS event, you immediately REMOVE anyone who bounced off your page (or site) quickly. This helps because you dont waste ad budget showing ads to people who were not interested.

You create an audience of people who were active on your page for 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 Seconds, 5 minutes, or any value you can think of!

The lower the time the bigger your audience. So, if you have less traffic use a shorter time so yur audience does not become too small.

2. INCLUDE PEOPLE: By creating Retargeting Audiences using people who fired an ACTIVE X SECONDS event for a longer time, say ACTIVE 90 SECONDS or ACTIVE 3 MINUTES you will create a filtered audience of more engaged visitors. This is because the more time spent on your page, the more interested a visitor is. (Time is money right? At the very least it is attention, and that is a sign of interest and intent.)

USE FOR RETARGETING AND LOOKALIKES:

Use for your Facebook Retargeting Audiences and for creating Lookalike Audiences from your most interested traffic.

FINDING WHAT WORKS for YOUR SITE:

I recommend you AB Test some different times to see that works best for your site and volume. You could start with one short (like 10s) and one longer (30-45s)
